What is Neapolitan Pizza?
What is Neapolitan Pizza? Neapolitan Pizza, also known as Pizza Napoletana is the OG when it comes to pizza. Pizza as we know it was created in Naples Italy, well over 200 years ago. Legend states that the name for the most classic pizza of all time was deemed Pizza Margherita after Margherita of Savoy when she and King Umberto visited the region of Naples. Raffaele Esposito baked them a pizza and named it in honor of the queen whose colors mirrored that of the Italian Flag. The ingredients were red tomatoes, white mozzarella, and green basil.
Neapolitan pizza is meant to be soft and chewey. It is traditionally made with a thin crust with an airy bubbly border that is charred by the wood-fired oven’s scorching temperatures. Neapolitan pizza is baked for no longer than 90 seconds! This style of pizza is meant to be kept simple in order to taste and appreciate the magnificent ingredients. We strive for quality ingredients that will create the best Neapolitan pizza!
